Enhanced highlight controls now available
November 8, 2000 - Improved highlight control gives additional
control over the highlight property for plastics and glossy materials
that you do not want to be reflective but want to have the effect of
a glossy finish. All current AccuRender users can download the latest
service release that includes the enhanced highlight controls.

Non-photometric raytracing now available
November 8, 2000 - Non-photometric raytracing is a new
rendering method that ignores many of the more accurate photometric
effects. This method is useful where the primary goal is a cool image
rather than realism or photometric accuracy. All current AccuRender
users can download the latest service release that includes
non-photometric raytrace technology.

now available
October 5, 2000 - coMOTION adds professional
animation capabilities to AccuRender. Using coMOTION, you can quickly
and easily add these actions and features to your animations:
advanced camera movement, object control, animated decals, animated
backgrounds, integrated sun studies advanced exposure control,
network rendering, wireframe previews, coMOTION plug-in actions, and
simple raytrace mode.

ClearFinish™ now available
May 18, 2000 - ClearFinish, a layered procedure, adds a new
level of realism to car paint, porcelain, ceramics, varnished woods,
or any material with a plastic or clear-coat layer. All current
AccuRender users can download a service release that includes ClearFinish.

accustudio contest winners announced
April 21, 2000 - Over 70 entries were submitted for the first
accustudio image contest, held between mid-January to mid-March 2000.
Judging took place during April 2000, with 6 accustudio judges
and 4 from McNeel. The quality of the images was extremely high, and
the judges had a very difficult time selecting the prize winners.
We'd like to extend a big "thank you" to all of the
entrants, and our congratulations to the winners!
